Gemma officially joined Physio4athletes in 2025 but has worked alongside our physios since she was a student. Gemma works in private practice and sporting settings. Here, she has developed a passion for treating a broad range of everyday presentations of musculoskeletal pain and injury in the clinic.

Gemma's experience in sports settings includes being team physio at local Cricket and Australian Rules Football clubs over the last three years. Gemma has consulted to the Racing Victoria Apprentice Jockey Program since 2024 where she provides tailored treatment and injury management to jockeys in the early stages of their career. Recently, Gemma was part of the Victorian Physiotherapy team at the Australian Youth Beach Volleyball Championships 2025, Queensland, gaining valuable experience working with high-performance athletes in a tournament setting.

However, Gemma's experience in sports settings began before she graduated from University when she worked a student physio clinical placement with Keilor Thunder NBL1 and WNBL1 Basketball team during the 2022 season. Gemma also has experience as a sports trainer working with Western Bulldogs VFL club during 2022-2024.

Gemma's passion for equestrian sports began during her childhood as she grew up riding and competing in Eventing. Gemma worked at racetracks whilst studying her Physiotherapy degree and has gained valuable insight and knowledge of the movement patterns required when riding racehorses and the injuries sustained. Gemma's lived experience of riding horses in different settings gives her a unique understanding of these rigorous sports and informs her treatments of equestrian injuries in clinic.

Gemma enjoys working with athletes of all levels and takes pride in helping them return to sport with confidence and a reduced risk of injury. She brings a pro-active and evidence-based approach to injury management.
